Screen Actors Guild Awards Follows the Golden Globes Lead
Here are the film category winners from the 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards, one of the last stops before the Oscars. The SAG Awards were nearly a complete repeat of the Golden Globes last weekend.
- Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto both won for the Dallas Buyers Club for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor respectively. They each picked up a Golden Globe as well.
- Cate Blanchett added an “Actor” Award to her Golden Globe for Blue Jasmine.
- The Best Cast in a motion picture SAG Award went to American Hustle, which won the Golden Globe for Best Picture, musical or comedy.
One difference tonight was Lupita Nyong’o winning for 12 Years a Slave for Best Supporting Actress. The Golden Globe in that category went to Jennifer Lawrence for American Hustle. And of course the biggest difference of the night was Jared Leto’s speech.
No need to watch the Oscars, we’ve already seen the winners.
