Saturday Night Live Moms Share Video of SNL Castmembers as Dumb Kids

Last night Saturday Night pulled off a great double play with their tribute to Mothers Day. First, SNL castmembers and featured players brought their moms out on stage so they could confess something they did wrong as a kid, and apologize for the very real, terrible things they did to theim. Host Reese Witherspoon was not exempt from the process.

Cecily Tyson apologized for using the dingbats font to write cursewords. Jay Pharoah said he was sorry for throwing away the sandwiches his mom used to make him in the trash– and they had basil in them! Sasheer slapped a kid and broke her glasses, Beck sexually experimented with a novelty pen, Kyle did “things to himself” while his mom was sleeping on the couch, Bobby blamed his graffiti on his elderly grandmother, Keenan set fires, Aidy played grown up games in the church parking lot, and Vanessa peed all over the house. But oddly that wasn’t the weirdest confession. That honor goes to two castmembers, Pete Davidson who confessed that when he was a kid he used his Mom’s good coat for a horror scene he was filming when he was nine, and then rolled it back up and put it in her closet, and also to Kate McKinnon, who told her mom she was sorry for reenacting the Mary Jo Buttafoco/Amy Fisher shooting and for being a weird kid. But as her mom said, weird got her here, so it’s all good.

But the best part about Saturday Night Live’s tribute to mother’s day was the home video each of the mom’s brought in of each of the ‘confessing’ kids. 4 year old Beck Bennett, Sasheer at 11, 13 year old Cecily Tyson, 12 year old Bobby Moynihan, Aidy Bryant at 12, Vanessa Bayer at 13, Kyle Mooney at 11, 15 year old Keenan Thompson, Reese at 16, and a very embarrassing moment for a 2 year old Jay Pharoah. They’re all amazing but Pete Davidson’s first big performance at age 1 is the showstopper.

Happy Mothers Day Everyone.
