It’s become a cliché for comedians to complain about the P.C. culture and especially hipsters and college kids for being far too sensitive and politically correct.

Sara Silverman is flipping the script and telling comedians it may be time to update their acts.

Sarah was talking with Vanity Fair’s Krista Smith about her new dark film, “I Smile Back” which screened at the Toronto Film Festival. She also talked about the evolution of comedy in the p.c. climate.

“To a degree, everyone’s going to be offended by something, so you can’t just decide on your material based on not offending anyone,” Silverman told Vanity Fair. “But, I do think it’s important, as a comedian, as a human, to change with the times.” she added, “I think it’s a sign of being old if you’re put off by that.”

“You have to listen to the college-aged, because they lead the revolution,” Silverman added. “They’re pretty much always on the right side of history.”

But Sarah, my wife is an old battleax and don’t even get me started on my mother in law.
