Sarah Silverman Calls on America to Change the Name of the Redskins
Two of Jim Gaffigan’s little tuxedo-clad darlings escorted Sarah Silverman out last night on the Late Late Show with Jim Gaffigan hosting and Jeanie Gaffigan on the couch. Once they had Sarah surrounded, Jim asked Sarah why no kids? Sarah says its kind of a personal question but you know how it is. People with kids are always recruiting.
In the second break they move on to talk about other family– Sarah’s sisters. If you’re coming on the Late Late Jim Gaffigan show, you’d better be prepared to talk family. Especially if you don’t know anything about football.
And Sarah doesn’t know anything about football. But she does know its time for America to change the name of the Washington Redskins. She can’t believe they’re still the Redskins. “What does it take to change with the times?” she said.
“It wasn’t long ago, a decade ago, less, that I was defending saying “gay, it’s gay, it’s queer.” And I’d be like, no I have gay friends, I’m not talking about that, I’m saying lame. And then I realized that I was the grandpa that was saying “I say colored, I have colored friends. There’s nothing different. Just change it. You won’t notice in a week that you’ve changed the Redskins to the whatever– Pink Poodles. It will take about a week to adjust and be on the right side of history, good lord!!”
