Sarah Palin Responds To Louis C.K.’s Apology

Sarah Palin has gratefully accepted Louis C.K.’ apology for his insulting drunken tweets about her back in 2010. Her apology came at the after-party for the Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special in New York City last February where Louis and the former governor were both guests. According to Louis C.K.’s account of what happened on the Howard Stern Show, Palin was there with her nephew Payton McCann who’s starting out in stand up, and he introduced the two of them. Louis said, “something came over me emotionally and I said, ‘Well, I owe you an apology.’ ”

Sarah Palin told People magazine about the apology. She said, “I had to ask C.K. what it was he was apologizing for. …C.K. explained he’d said some things about me and was sorry, and went on with such a nice, humble apology. I laughed and said he didn’t need to apologize, for I hadn’t even heard it. Then I teased him that, ‘If you really did say nasty things about me, well, then you’re the only person to have ever said mean things about me, so for shame!’ ”

She added, “I wish I could have spoken with him longer. And again, I sincerely appreciated his unexpected and character-revealing apology,” she says. “I think he’s the only one in Hollywood who’s ever done that.” Palin says she now considers Louis C.K. a “very funny talent” and has invited him to come fishing with her the next time he’s in Alaska. Hopefully this will turn into a great episode of “Louie”.
