Runner Loses Medal Via DQ On Live TV, Ends Up Getting It Back

Paul Chelimo got the Silver medal in the men’s 5000m, but after the race while being interviewed on live TV, he was told he was actually disqualified from the race and was losing his medal. After appealing the decision saying he was being pushed, the medal ended up being given back to him, but not before social media was furious over the way NBC handled the situation. Maybe he got disqualified on a hot tip from Ryan Lochte.
