Rumor Mill: Josh Gad May Play Roger Ebert In New Film

Roger Ebert’s other career as a screenwriter may become the subject of a new film starring Josh Gad as the film critic. “Russ & Roger Go Beyond” is the story of the collaboration of between Ebert and director Russ Meyer as they worked on Ebert’s screenplay for “Beyond the Valley of the Dolls”. Will Ferrell is being talked about to play Russ Meyer.
The Wrap reports that Gad hasn’t been signed to do the film, but he is the producers top choice for the part of the Chicago Sun-Times movie reviewer. The film will focus on the friendship between the two men as well as their working relationship.
“Russ & Roger Go Beyond” is being written by Emmy winner Christopher Cluess who’s written for “Saturday Night Live” and “The Simpsons”.
