Prime Series Will Follow 7 Comics on the Road to JFL’s New Faces

Inside Jokes, a docuseries about the road to Just for Laugh’s annual New Faces performance will premiere on Amazon Prime on November 30th.

The streaming platform today announced that the six-episode series, which follows up-and-coming comedians in New York and Los Angeles as they pursue their dream of being selected for the prestigious Montreal Just for Laughs Festival New Faces showcase.

The Prime Original series will feature several of the twenty comedians who went through the process of auditioning for Just for Laughs New Faces in 2018 including Rosebud Baker, Robert Dean, Kellen Erskine, Simon Gibson, and Daphnique Springs— as well as Alzo Slade and MK Paulsen, as they went through the process. This year’s twenty comedians inducted as JFL New Faces included Rosebud Baker, Emmy Blotnick, Joel Boyd, JC Currais, Rocky Dale Davis, Robert Dean, Kenny DeForest, Kellen Erskine, Jourdain Fisher, Simon Gibson, Mekki Leeper, Zach Noe Towers, Erica Rhodes, Paris Sashay, Usama Siddiquee, Daphinique Springs, Nina Tarr, Ron Taylor, Jordan Temple, and Jeremiah Watkins.

Prime members will get unprecedented access into the exhaustive annual nationwide search and what it takes to be chosen for this exclusive showcase. The series will follow the comedians to comedy clubs, to their jobs, and to their homes, as they struggle to hone their acts. And for those select few chosen to be New Faces, as they prepare for a performance that could launch their careers.
