Playing a Boy in ‘She’s The Man’ Gave Amanda Bynes Severe Depression

In an interview with Paper magazine, Amanda Bynes said that she went into a deep depression after playing a girl pretending to be a boy in “She’s The Man.” Bynes said “When the movie came out and I saw it … I didn’t like how I looked when I was a boy.” and that it was a “super strange and out-of-body experience. It just really put me into a funk.” Not even the dancing lobsters from the Amanda Show could cheer her up.
