Ever wonder how Paul Reubens was inspired to become Pee Wee? Well it may not explain everything, but Paul Reubens grew up in Sarasota Florida, the winter home of the traveling circus. So while he was growing up, people were being shot out of cannons around him, and little people- the Doll family- were giving out Halloween candy, and circus folk were just a part of his day to day life.

Reubens also talked about his unusual collection of oddities, like a Mr. T bank, hand soap in the shape of a hand, a wind up glow in the dark house, an autograph covered stuffed dachsund. and other assorted crap. He said he filled his house with nutty stuff, emptied it out, and filled it up again two more times. He could just move into Carrot Top’s trunk or a Spencer Gift shop and save himself a lot of trouble.
