Patton Oswalt Nearly Crushed During Performance
Usually a Patton Oswalt show in Grand Rapids, Michigan is one of the safest activities you could do in America. However while performing at Laughfest in Grand Rapids, a backdrop collapsed behind Patton during his performance. The incident happened at Fountain Street Church during Patton Oswalt’s show on Friday the 13th. Since no one was hurt, it probably couldn’t be classified as unlucky though.
Patton was able to ignore the incident and even mention it as he finished his set. According to Grand Rapids’ WZZM, he received a huge standing ovation for how he handled the situation.
Laughfest wraps up Sunday evening with a performance by George Lopez at 8pm at Devos Performance Hall. For tickets, go to LaughfestGR.org. The festival benefits Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids in honor of Gilda Radner.
Patton Oswalt retweeted some photos from his near disastrous night at Laughfest. Just about everyone went for the same joke.
