Pamela Adlon Getting Her Own Series Directed By Louis CK

Two time Emmy nominee Pamela Adlon is getting a pilot deal on FX. Adlon, who not only appears on “Louie”, but also produces and writes for the series, will star in the comedy pilot called “Better Things”. She created the concept and will executive produce with Louis and he will also direct the pilot. Adlon and CK also collaborated on CK’s first series, “Lucky Louie” where she played his Louie’s wife.
“Better Things” will feature Pamela Adlon as a single mother of three who is also a working actor and doing a juggling act to keep her family, career, friends and an occasional love life all in balance. FX said, “Her life is funny to watch, but you wouldn’t want to live it (except sometimes)”.
In addition to her Emmy nominations for “Louie”, Pamela Adlon has won a WGA award for the series and has gotten two PGA nominations. Her Emmy win came from playing a young Texas boy. She picked up the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance for playing young Bobby Hill on the animated series, “King of the Hill”.
“Better Things” shows FX’s commitment to comedy. It’s the fifth comedy series pilot produced or ordered by FX Networks in a year. The new FX pilots include, “Atlanta” starring Donald Glover, “Pariah” starring Bill Burr, Baskets starring Zach Galifianakis coming in 2016 and an untitled project with Tracy Morgan.
