Barry-Norman-GetFilm critic Barry Norman claims that not only are the 6,000 Academy Award voters not watching all of the films that are nominated, but that some of the elderly members just get their housekeepers to watch the films and vote on their behalf. This would explain why The Grand Budapest Hotel’s ‘Cleaning Lady #5’ nearly ran away with a best supporting actress nomination.
