UPDATE:  The webpage has been changed back to the Opie & Anthony Channel, but references to the  “SiriusXM Talk” have been appearing on the online player as well as on the phone app and pad data. For now. Meanwhile Anthony Cumia has launched AnthonyCumia.com promising a new show August 4th and subscription information available next week.

Since the announcement first came down on Friday July 4th, that SiriusXM was cutting ties with Anthony Cumia,(read here if you somehow missed that story) there’s been a lot of speculation about what would happen next. A few questions have slowly been answered. And it looks like SiriusXM has already renamed the Opie and Anthony Channel to SiriusXM Talk. No announcements have been made but if you visit the Opie and Anthony page on SiriusXM’s website, the screen shot pictured above now sits where the Opie and Anthony banner used to be.

You had to know there would be changes but SiriusXM Talk? This of course will lead to even more speculation about the future of the channel and what Opie and Jim Norton’s plans might be for the channel.

Opie had joked on his twitter earlier that the new channel would be named “Benedict and Arnold” in the morning.

If you haven’t been keeping up on the twitter feeds Cumia has already announced via his twitter @AnthonyCumia that he plans to pursue a self produced show based on his popular Live From the Compound video podcast.  He’s said he’s building a staff and  plans to  start up in August, and he’s looking forward to the complete freedom that this type of show will offer him. “Early August launch. Exact date TBA. Oh, I can not wait!”  As for Opie and Jim Norton, they’ll be on the air starting on Monday, as per this announcement on @OpieRadio. “Had a long talk with @SiriusXM me and @JimNorton will be back on the radio next monday to start to figure this out.”

This possible SiriusXM promo was put up on YouTube by Opie and Anthony fan “Steven Knight.” Can’t confirm that it’s real, but then again, at this point, nothing would surprise us.
