NYC’s Metropolitan Room Going For World Record

Bernie Furshpan, the owner of the Metropolitan Room in Chelsea, NYC is looking to get a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records. Bernie and his club will attempt to break the record for longest variety show ever. The plan is to present 60 hours of continuous entertainment on one stage starting on New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1st at 7 pm and running through Sunday, January 4th at 7 am.

The Metropolitan Room stage will be filled with over 235 musical acts, theater performances, magic shows, drag acts, burlesque performers and comedians. Each act is scheduled to perform for 15 minutes at a time. Some of the comedy you’ll see during the 60 hour marathon includes, Tony Danza, Eddie Brill, Jon Fisch, Richard Pryor Jr., Judy Gold, Bob Greenberg, Jeffrey Gurian and many more.

There are day passes available and passes that get you in for the full 60 hour run, plus prizes for audience members that hang in the longest.
