Now We Know the Names of the All-Girl Ghostbusters
Paul Feig has been having a lot of fun slowly leaking the details on his female reboot of Ghostbusters. The latest news brings us the names of the lead characters, played by Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. Erin Gilbert, Jillian Holtzmann, Abby Yates and Patty Tolan. Does that help? Not really but at least you know what to label that blank spot on the shelf where your action figures will live.
A little quick detective work tells you that Kristen Wiig will be Erin Gilbert, Melissa McCarthy is going by Abby Yates, Kate McKinnon is Jillian Holtzmann and that leaves Leslie Jones playing Patty Tolan.

Already leaked earlier this month was the news that Dan Aykroyd will make an appearance somewhere in the film, Chris Hemsworth is our gender reversed Janine, and Neil Casey who we’ve come to love from Paul Feig’s Other Space plays the films primary villain. We’ve got photos of ecto-1, proton packs, and uniforms, and so far everything’s looking good. Feig recently talked with SiriusXM’s Ron Bennington about making an action comedy, and shared some of his philosophy when he was out promoting Spy. We can assume that some of those same practices will come into play in Ghostbusters. Feig said he guards the tone of the movie fiercely, makes sure to let funny people try what they want to try, remember that action heroes don’t have to try to be funny, always make sure physical comedy has logic, and “it was really important to me to make sure the action was real but not mayhem.”
Ghostbusters is in production now and hits theaters July 22, 2016.
