truTV announced its 2019-20 slate today ahead of next week’s first-ever WarnerMedia Upfront event at The Theater at Madison Square Garden.

Among the announcements comes one from comedians and long time friends Noah Gardenswartz and Clayton English. The pair has teamed up for the new series Game Changers combining sports and comedy. Described as a fast-paced, half-hour studio show that features celebrity sketches, pro athlete drop-ins and comedic field investigations. Set on a stage in their hometown of Atlanta, truTV has greenlit 12 episodes of the series, which is produced by Above Average with English, Gardenswartz, Grant Jones, Marc Lieberman, Jason Ross and Elliott Kalan serving as executive producers. Game Changers (wt) is slated to be released in early 2020.

Gardenswartz is a New York based comedian and writer and a nationally booked headliner who goes on stage regularly at The Comedy Cellar. He released his first album in 2016 for Comedy Central Records along with a half hour special on the Network, and was a semi-finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. He writes for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Comedy Knockout and also appeared on the much overlooked show There’s…Johnny.

English appeared on the same season of Last Comic Standing and swept the whole thing becoming the last person to win the long running show. He was named to Montreal’s “New Faces” at Just for Laughs, was a recurring character on Netflix’s Love, and has a role in The War With Grandpa starring Robert De Niro, Uma Thurman, and Christopher Walken.

truTV also announced a greenlight of its first animated series, This Functional Family from comedian Jo Koy, and announced new seasons of Cipha Sounds series Laff Mobb’s Laff Tracks and The Carbonaro Effect, and additional episodes of Adam Ruins Everything, all launching later this year.
