Nikki Glaser Joining Dancing With the Stars This Year?

It’s that time of year when all the tv gossip sites try to guess who will be in the new Dancing with the Stars cast. The full cast will be revealed in a big announcement tomorrow morning- Wednesday, September 12 on Good Morning America. But rumors are swirling and one of the rumors is that stand up comedy’s own Nikki Glaser will be on that list that gets announced tomorrow morning.
E! news has confirmed that Nancy McKeon, who you knew and loved as Jo on Facts of Life is already set to dance. The rest is speculation. They’ve also heard that Juan Pablo Di Pace, Mary Lou Retton and Glaser will be dancing. John Schneider is also on the rumored list along with a radio host named Bobby Bones.
If Glaser is in the cast it would be a bit of a twist. Most DWTS castmembers have already hit peak fame and are in a period where they could use a little boost and maybe have some free time. Glaser, on the other hand, is a rising star with plenty to keep her busy, so while initially the choice seemed unlikely, the show does cast current and rising athletes, singer-songwriters and actors, so its not completely out of the question. Plus she has a morning radio show that she loves, and probably wouldn’t want to give that up, but SiriusXM has studios on the West Coast right?
One of Glaser’s SiriusXM listeners said on Reddit that she’s been doing her show from LA lately and teasing an upcoming project that she’s insecure about because its out of her wheelhouse.
And then there’s this photo…
A site called puredwts says the addition of Glaser would mean there’s one too many female celebs, which has us leaning toward this being a false rumor. PDWTS also writes that an Instagram hint photo includes a mystery woman who they think could be Glaser. In their speculation match up, they write, “10.) Nikki Glaser & Gleb (nails, general build, and clue seem to match in Gleb’s IG hint).” Here’s the photo, judge for yourself.
Last season Gleb Savchenko partnered with University of Notre Dame basketball player Arike Ogunbowale and in Season 26 he was paired with South African singer songwriter Sasha Pieterse.
If she is in the cast, we’ll be watching.
Glaser is a powerhouse on stage, one of the strongest, funniest and most interesting young comedians in the country right now. She just had a great run as a judge on Comedy Central’s “Roast Battle” series, and her prematurely canceled, “Not Safe with Nikki Glaser” was beloved by fans and critics (us included), and would have likely become a hit had it still been on the air when all the #MeToo stories starting making news. Now you can hear her every morning on SiriusXM’s Comedy Central radio, on her show “You UP With Nikki Glaser”, and you can see her performing on stages all over New York City and around the country.
Will we also see her on ABC every week dancing in heels and ballroom dresses? We’ll find out tomorrow.
