New “Louie” Teasers Celebrate New Yorkers

Louis C.K. is back with season 5 of his Emmy Award winning FX series “Louie” on April 9th. In the new teaser trailers released by FX to get people ready for the new season, it shows one thing that “Louie” does better than other sitcoms, using New York as a backdrop.

The new black and white promos show a diverse group of New Yorkers proclaiming Louis C.K. as their own. There’s also the theme to “Louie” being played on a sax, an instrument tailor-made for the soundtrack of NYC, while iconic images of the Louie’s city flash across the screen including the 59th Street Bridge, subways, shoe shiners and endless pothole road work being done. And there’s New Yorkers of all kinds trying their hand at singing the show’s theme song which is a cover of Hot Chocolate’s “Brother Louie”.

It’s safe to say that season 5 of “Louie” will be set in New York City. The season premiere is Thursday, April 9th at 10:30pm et only on FX.
