Comedy stars and collaborators Nick Kroll and John Mulaney will star in a new original animated series coming to Netflix. Big Mouth will feature a ton of familiar stand up and comedy voices including Maya Rudolph, Jason Mantzoukas, Jordan Peele, Fred Armisen, Jenny Slate and Jessi Klein in addition to Kroll and Mulaney.

The new series created by Nick Kroll and his life-long, real-life best friend Andrew Goldberg will take on teenage adventures during the puberty age range, with the lead characters of Nick and Andy being voiced by Kroll and Mulaney. Nick Kroll said about the series, “Andrew and I have been best friends since 1st grade, so this show is over 30 years in the making. I can’t wait to tell all the stories that make up the glorious nightmare of puberty,” commented Nick Kroll.

Netflix is planning to be hands off with the series, entrusting Kroll and Goldberg with the series direction. “There are few things that keep me up at night….Nick Kroll’s adventures in puberty is one of them, so we greenlit this series with very few questions asked,” said Cindy Holland, Netflix vice president of original content.

Nick and John have collaborated before, most memorably as characters Gil Faizon (Kroll) and George St. Geegland, originally created for “Kroll Show”, but later the main characters toured in a two man stage show, Oh Hello. Kroll and Mulaney recently completed their nationally sold out tour and rave-reviewed off-Broadway run of Oh, Hello.

Netflix gave a 10 episode order to Big Mouth. The series is set to premiere in 2017.
