Netflix Releases Trailer for Louis C.K. Special But Don’t Expect to Get a Sneak Preview

Louis C.K., who may be at the top of the current stand-up comedy food chain (he’s at least top 3), has a brand new hour special coming to Netflix next week, and word on the street in New York City is, it is his best special yet. We haven’t seen it- Netflix keeps their top liner hours under wraps (at least from us), but when it drops on April 4th, we’ll be watching.
Today, Netflix released a trailer for the special named 2017, but don’t expect to learn anything about the hour. You will see C.K. arriving at the theater in Washington D.C., making his way to the green room (in this case, the Conductor’s room), suit up, drink some coffee, and finally the stage. In his new stand up, 2017, Netflix promises that Louis C.K. muses on religion, eternal love, giving dogs drugs, email fights, teachers and more, in a live performance from Washington, D.C.
This will be the first of two new specials C.K. recorded. After leaving Louie behind (not officially, but he has said he doesn’t see himself returning to the series any time soon), C.K. had said he was slowing down a bit to put more focus on honing his stand up skills. Of course for Louis, slowing down means still finding room to produce brilliant television including Tig Notaro’s One Mississippi, Pamela Adlon’s Better Things, Zach Galifianakis in Baskets, and his own Horace and Pete. But after seeing his unforgettable monologue on Saturday Night Live last year, we’re expecting greatness. Speaking of SNL, Louis returns to host on April 8th.
This Is It.
