NBC Seeking Comedy Writers For the “Comedy Playground” Initiative

If you’re an aspiring comedy writer with a pitch that you think is a sure hit, here’s good news. NBC is looking for new comedy writing talent and has started a new project to find it.
The NBC Comedy Playground was announced as a “groundbreaking national campaign that offers aspiring comedy writers from across the country the opportunity to take their concepts from pitch to broadcast.”
An advisory board consisting of comedy experts including Aziz Ansari, Jason Bateman, Robert Carlock, Sean Hayes, Mindy Kaling, Jason Katims, Josh Lieb, Eva Longoria, Adam McKay, Seth Meyers, Todd Milliner, Will Packer, Amy Poehler, Craig Robinson, Maya Rudolph, Mike Schur, Adam Scott and Mike Shoemaker, will help the network find two winners who will have their original show ideas turned into network pilots that will air on NBC.
Beginning May 1st, comedy writers from around the country can start submitting their ideas. 10 finalists will receive funding to make their original concept pilots. From those 10, the two winners will be chosen. The runners-up will have a chance to make their script into an NBC digital show. See all official rules and details at nbccomedyplayground.com.
How long before they try to turn this into a reality show?
