NBC’s comedy landscape for the new TV season is coming together. The network announced its sitcoms for 2014 – 15.

Looks like NBC’s comedy strategy is to work with names that have brought the network success in the past. NBC is keeping it in the family with the new comedy series “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” from the Emmy Award winning team behind “30 Rock”, Tina Fey and fellow ex-Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock writer Robert Carlock. The series stars other NBC alumni including Ellie Kemper from “The Office” in the lead role, and Jane Krakowski from “30 Rock” in a recurring part.

Craig Robinson from “The Office” is another NBC star returning to the network with the new comedy, “Mr. Robinson”. In the series, Robinson plays a journeyman musician who gets a job as a music teacher at a middle school.

NBC is also ordering up comedies from Will Ferrell, who was a network Saturday Night Live favorite. Ferrell along with his partner Adam McKay and their Gary Sanchez Productions is bringing two comedies to NBC. First, “Bad Judge” starring Kate Walsh. The series follows a U.S. Criminal Courts judge who “plays with the law” and is sexually unapologetic. The other new NBC comedy from Ferrell and McKay’s Gary Sanchez Productions is “Mission Control”, a comedy that takes place against the backdrop of the 1962 space race.

Rashida Jones from “Parks and Recreation” is back in the NBC fold. She and producing partner Will McCormack are bringing a new comedy to the network called “A To Z” which follows a couple from their first meeting to their eventual break up. “A To Z” along with “Bad Judge” will make up a block of NBC’s Thursday night line up.

Other new comedies include “Marry Me” from “Happy Endings” creator David Caspe. The show is about a young couple who get engaged, something they quickly realize is harder than it looks. “Marry Me” will air Tuesdays in the coveted time slot right after “The Voice”. Plus, there’s “One Big Happy” from producer Ellen Degeneres which will redefine the American TV sitcom family in a whole new way.

As for returning NBC comedies, the network announced it’s bringing back “Parks and Recreation” for its 7th and final season.
