NBC Looking At An English Soccer Comedy

With the English Premier League a big hit for NBC, The Peacock is looking to add a soccer-themed comedy to its main network, according to the Hollywood Reporter. They’re interested in adapting the Israeli comedy “Imported”, which is about an Israeli footballer signed by Chelsea, and the culture shock he and his family experience after moving to London. NBC’s version would obviously feature an American family, and Robert Borden (“The Late Show With David Letterman,” “George Lopez”) is writing the initial script.
