Creators Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd told the Hollywood Reporter that Modern Family will most likely end after season ten. “Our plan is to end it at 10…If we can leave with most of our audience wanting more, I think that’s the right way to do it”, Levitan then added that they “just can’t imagine that we’d go past that.” One of the reasons is that to go to a season 11, the network would have to sign new deals for the gigantic cast, that would likely be pretty pricey. Currently in the middle of their ninth season, Levitan and Lloyd have not decided how the series will end yet. But if they do wrap the season in 2019, they are still open to the idea of a spinoff involving one of the ensemble casts’ many beloved stars.
Honestly, fans probably stopped wanting more back when Baby Joe was recast as Toddler Joe.
