Mike Recine’s Debut Album: Union Delegate Out Today and You Need to Order It

It’s no secret we’re giant fans of Mike Recine. He’s one of the most original young comedians working in New York clubs right now.  Today Recine releases his debut album– Union Delegate— and its outstanding.  Recine taped his special at New York Comedy Club this summer for a packed room, and it was a huge event with SNL’s Colin Jost in the house to feature for him.

Throughout the album Recine uses misdirection and a laid back, every guy manner to make you think he’s going in one direction– that will be funny– and then he changes courses, drops your jaw and makes you laugh till your face hurts.  Then you’ll say holy shit, pause the album and call someone to tell them what you just heard.

Recine will catch you off guard over and over again throughout the album.  It’s not for everyone, there’s some dark jokes here– and this is not what you call a politically correct album.  Some more sensitive types might not fully appreciate the joke Mike remembers telling a friend when he was nine because he thought it would be funny (spoiler alert- the friend didn’t appreciate it either). Or the story about the swastika on his grandmothers car. Maybe you’re not completely ready for the track about why Mike want’s to be known someday as the funniest dad in the neighborhood.  But if you don’t order this album you may never find out why Mike’s future grandson is blowing dogs, or the one wish he hopes God will grant him before he dies.

We met Mike last year when he made it to the New York’s Funniest finals, and delivered a brilliantly funny and creative set. SiriusXM host Ron Bennington was one of the judges of that event and called Recine one of the most original stand ups he’s seen in a long time, and  referred to Recine as “a corner who hasn’t been turned yet who is going to set his own pace and the audience is going to catch up to him.”

Mike has performed on Conan, as a New Face in the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, been nominated for Time Out New York’s Joke of the Year, and written for the MTV Video Music Awards.   If you haven’t seen Mike’s digital short movie “A Dollar Short” watch it while you’re ordering the album. It’s fucking funny.

Mike Recine: Union Delegate, his debut standup comedy album, will be released by Comedy Dynamics on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, and all other digital retailers and streaming sites today, November 20, 2015. Order it on Amazon.com here.
