The Middle Ages Get the Matt Groening Treatment
The Simpsons put Matt Groening on the animated comedy Mt Rushmore (well, if there was one anyway) for his look at the average American family in the 20th and 21st centuries. His look at the future brought him another hit series- Futurama. Now get a first look at Matt Groening’s planned time shift back to the middle ages with “Disenchantment”.
Set in Greenland and drawn in trademark Groening style, the show promises to take you to the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, where they will follow the misadventures of hard-drinking young princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci. Along the way, the oddball trio will encounter ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools.”
Abbi Jacobson, Nat Faxon and Eric Andre will play Bean, Elfo and Luci, with a supporting voice cast that includes Billy West, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding, John DiMaggio, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, and Lucy Montgomery.
Disenchantment launches on Netflix August 17.
