Michael Moore Predicts Trump Victory On Real Time With Bill Maher

Michael Moore

Oscar winning documentary filmmaker Michael Moore fears a Donald Trump presidency. He also predicted that it is indeed coming on a special edition of Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO following the Republican convention on Wednesday night.

The panel portion of Real Time which included columnist Dan Savage, author and MSNBC host Joy Reid and Moore, poked fun of what they considered some of the ridiculousness of the GOP convention so far, including Ted Cruz’s political heel turn, Dr. Ben Carson saying Hillary Clinton is in league with Lucifer (yeah, THAT Lucifer), and Chris Christie’s speech full of audience chants against Hillary Clinton which was described by Maher’s panelists as a “Burn the Witch!” moment.

Michael Moore jumped in to point out that even though they were calling it craziness, that for millions of millions of Americans, it was truly “music to their ears”. Moore said his worry this week is that while Democrats, liberals and the like have been having a laugh at the more disastrous moments of the Republican National Convention, the Republican message is getting through to the many voters that Donald Trump needs to be elected President. Then to the dismay and shock of the live Real Time studio audience, Michael Moore predicted that Donald Trump is going to win the presidency in November. Bill Maher told his audience to boo if they wanted to, but he was glad someone was saying it because “the enemy is complacency”.

The Academy Award winning director then laid out the reasons why he sees a Trump victory over Hillary Clinton. Moore compared it to the Brexit vote in the United Kingdom. He said that Trump’s message resonates in the Rust Belt. He included Ohio, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and his home state of Michigan in his statement, saying that Mitt Romney lost by 64 electoral votes in 2012 and those states combined produce that exact number which will give Trump a win in the Electoral College. He also cited Republicans winning governor’s races in the Rust Belt and how big the turnout and enthusiasm for Trump was that he witnessed personally during the Michigan primary.

Moore added to his prediction by foretelling of President Trump on Inauguration Day in 2017 refusing to live in that “dump”, the White House and instead building a massive Presidential residence on a golf course in the DC suburb city of Fairfax, Virginia. He also warned one last time for voters not to live in denial of the very real possibility of Donald Trump becoming the leader of the free world.

Real Time with Bill Maher will continue with its live RNC special editions with another show Thursday night after Donald Trump’s acceptance speech. Coverage is scheduled for 11pm Eastern on HBO or whatever time the convention comes to a close Thursday night. Maher will also be live with special Democratic National Convention coverage next Wednesday and Thursday. Real Time with Bill Maher airs at its regular time on Friday night at 10pm on HBO.
