Man Faces 13 Years in Prison For “Vandalism” Using Sidewalk Chalk

A San Diego man who wrote chalk messages on sidewalks in front of banks faces $13,000 in fines and/or up to 13 years in prison for what city prosecutors say is vandalism. His messages, which included “No thanks, big banks” and “Shame on Bank of America,” served as his mode of protesting the bailout. Hop scotch enthusiasts everywhere have gone into hiding.
