Louis CK, John Oliver, Headline The 2014 Stand Up For Heroes

This year’s Stand Up for Heroes benefit is bringing huge names to the Theater at Madison Square Garden. Louis CK, John Oliver, and John Mulaney all will be there to support the Bob Woodruff Foundation. The 8th annual Stand Up for Heroes happens Wednesday, November 5th and it’s the kick-off to the New York Comedy Festival. Besides comedy, other performers scheduled to appear include Bruce Springsteen, Brian Williams and surprise guests.
The Bob Woodruff Foundation was started by Bob and Lee Woodruff. Bob was the network anchorman for ABC’s World News Tonight when he suffered a major brain injury and trauma when a roadside bomb went off while he was covering the war in Iraq. Their foundation now helps veterans returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan with programs designed to help vets and their families dealing with unemployment, depression, substance abuse and suicide. Last year, Stand Up for Heroes raised $5 million.
Tickets can be purchased for the benefit at NYComedyFestival.com. This year, the NYCF runs from November 5th through November 9th. The 2014 line up includes Bill Cosby, Amy Schumer, Bill Maher, Tig Notaro, Nick Offerman, Chris D’Elia, Marc Maron, Hannibal Buress and Maria Bamford.
