Lil Rel Comedy Special, Coming to HBO

Comedian, actor, writer and producer Lil Rel will star in his first HBO stand-up comedy special, the network announced. The hour will be taped in Los Angeles next month with Lil Rel, Jerrod Carmichael, Bo Burnham, Chris Storer, Jeff Tomsic and Avi Gilbert producing. This will be Carmichael’s fourth time producing a comedy special- including two of his own as well as an HBO special for Drew Michael to his credit. He also directed Drew Michael’s special and will direct Rel’s as well. Burnham produced two specials for himself, and also produced Carmichael’s “8” for HBO.
Lil Rel’s previous credits include truTV’s highly underrated sketch series “Friends of the People”, a breakout role in the Oscar®-winning “Get Out,” the record-breaking hit “Bird Box”, NBC’s “Carmichael Show” and HBO’s “Insecure.” His short-lived series “Rel” aired for once season on FOX.
The special will be produced for HBO by Ashley LLC; executive producers, Lil Rel, Jerrod Carmichael, Bo Burnham, Chris Storer, Jeff Tomsic and Avi Gilbert; produced by Matt Vaughn; directed by Jerrod Carmichael.
