People are saying we should go back to the old school leather NFL helmets. Researchers from Virginia Tech did indeed test the hypothesis using vintage Hutch H-18 leather helmets from the 1930s and a new helmets used today with an impact simulation. The test showed that the modern ones “reduced the concussion risk by anywhere from 45 to 96 percent.”
