IBilled as “America’s most compelling comedy competition” Last Comic Standing returns to NBC tonight with a 2 hour premiere episode at a special start time of 9 pm Eastern. There’s a new host, new judges and 100 comedians competing tonight to see who makes the final cut. We don’t know who they are yet, (although we know Joe Machi is one of them and so is Jimmy Schubert) and we’re hearing that there are some comedy heavy weights will be hitting the stage along with new young talent. So you’ve got comedians competing, comedians judging a comedian host, and on top of that, there’s an all star slate of comedian mentors. The top prize is $250,000 and a development deal with NBC to create a 1/2 hour project specifically designed for the winner.
