John Oliver Shuts Down FCC Site

John Oliver’s latest episode devoted an entire segment that ended with a call for trolls to, for “once in your lives, focus your indiscriminate rage in a useful direction.” The target is the FCC’s recent decision to strike down net neutrality– a decision John Oliver has pointed out is dangerous, and has wide reaching consequences.
Oliver’s call to action resulted in 47,000 comments being left on the FCC’s page on open internet, shutting down the site completely. Nothing says activism like causing momentary inconvenience to a website.
