John Hamm Was Ellie Kemper’s Teacher in High School in St. Louis

Whaaaaat? Mind blown. John Hamm was Ellie Kemper’s high school drama teacher. And he was already famous. She says he was so sweet that when Ellie first got out to LA, she invited him to a show she was doing and he came and watched, and this was post-Mad Men. So John Hamm is the king of St. Louis. Sort of like St Louis’s own Abe Frohman.
This all came out on Late Night with Seth Meyers last night when Ellie was a guest to promote her upcoming premiere of her Netflix series, “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ on March 6.
