Jane Curtain’s New Year’s Resolution is Upsetting Some People Who Don’t Understand Language

As we waited to kick the shit year that was 2018 goodbye, CNN was giving all kinds of coverage of New Year’s Eve including asking some celebrities what their New Year’s Resolution is.

Jane Curtain’s resolution should have just been a throwaway line, no different from Lena Dunham’s resolution to kiss more gay guys on the lips, but now conservative pundits are making a huge deal about it.

“My New Year’s resolution is to make sure that the Republican Party dies,” she said on camera. Curtain, who was one of Saturday Night Live’s original cast members later starred in two hit series- Kate and Allie and 3rd Rock From the Sun.

Now it’s becoming a big deal. Way too big a deal.  We don’t watch a lot of Fox and Friends, but according to  The Daily Beast, Fox and Friends co-host Steve Doocy thought Curtain’s resolution was not only a real threat to be taken seriously– he actually thought Curtain’s plan was to start killing off individual Republicans. To analyze Curtain’s remark, the show brought in someone who was supposedly an expert on comedy who could get to the bottom of whether Curtain was going to get some kind of weapon and start offing the GOP.

Comedy “expert” Michael Loftus confirmed their biggest fears, saying Curtain’s resolution was “absolutely terrifying.” He also said Curtain “has lost it” and said he’s glad for the three day waiting period to get a gun. Loftus has written for The George Lopez Show, Charlie Sheen’s Anger Management, and Kevin James’ Kevin Can Wait.
