It’s Groundhog’s Day But Much Much Darker, Watch the New Trailer for Russian Doll
Natasha Lyonne stars in Netflix’s next big weird hit- Russian Doll. Premiering February 1st, the new eight episode, time bender series stars Natasha as “Nadia” reliving her own birthday party and death in New York City. Its the dark, dark, dark version of Groundhog’s day from Lyonne, Leslye Headland and Amy Poehler. Greta Lee, Yul Vasquez, Elizabeth Ashley and Charlie Barnett costar.
“Let’s fuck this party in the mouth,” the trailer begins, and we join our trapped in time hero at what looks like a pretty expensive and trendy party. The evening ends with a cab ride, which would be fine except its a ride on the hood of the cab into the street. Attempts to avoid that fate on successive runs of the night don’t end much better. A fall down the stairs, a push over the bannister, an accident in an ambulance, a runaway elevator, and more than one trip into a sidewalk loading gate end badly as well. “Crimson and Clover” replaces Groundhog Day’s cheery “I’ve Got You Babe” in this twisted take on the party that won’t end…until it does.
