Is Seth Rogen The Best Comedian Of His Generation?
The Daily Beast thinks Seth Rogen is the most impressive comedian of his generation and set out to make a strong case for it.
They’re loving Rogen’s new movie, The Night Before, for starters, but more importantly, The Daily Beast’s Nick Schager says Rogen has “transformed into the leading comedic voice of his generation by embodying a particular 21st century type: the twenty-and-thirtysomething straining to cope with impending adulthood.”
Unlike some of Rogen’s contemporaries, Schager argues that Seth’s characters are relatable, and are more real than other comedic characters. Schager goes through about a decade of Rogen roles to make his point, ending with his role in The Night Before, which he calls “born from the everyday angst of trying to straddle the line between his former (childish) and future (adult) selves.”
