After James Franco and Seth Rogen cancelled all media appearances for “The Interview”, now the New York City red carpet premiere has been cancelled as well. Landmark’s Sunshine Cinema which planned to host the NYC screening debut has backed out after the hackers responsible for the massive Sony email leaks threaten “September 11th” type terrorist attacks. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Sony had planned on going ahead with the premiere, but it was the theater that cancelled it.

It was announced that Sony talked with theater owners Tuesday, telling  the theater chains that the release of “The Interview” was going to happen, but theaters were free to not show the film if they decided that was best. On Tuesday night, Carmike Cinemas decided to cancel its screenings of the film.
