Inside Amy Schumer Renewed for a Fifth Season

Inside Amy Schumer

2015 was the year of Amy Schumer, and now only 6 days into sweet ’16 the Amy Schumer news is still coming fast and furious. She’s got a new boyfriend, she’s finished her script with Jennifer Lawrence, and now months before the premiere of season four in April, Comedy Central announced that the Emmy-award winning series Inside Amy Schumer will get a fifth season. She also said she’s engaged, married, had a baby and her boyfriend cheated on her.  Part of that tweet might be made up, but we’re not sure which part.

Schumer said she’s excited to get picked up again, and that this time feels the best even though Schumer had initially predicted a short run for the series.  “We are so excited to get picked up,” said Schumer. “I’ve gotten picked up many times, but this time feels the best.”

Season three had massive growth — over 200% over previous seasons with viral video views alone, and total video streams saw a six-fold increase season-over-season, with over 83 million videos streamed from the third season.  The show has also received raves from fans and critics and we’ve been calling it the best sketch show on television since season one (why Inside Amy Schumer Should Win Every Emmy).

We’re excited about season four, and now we get to look forward to season five as well. Congratulations to the entire Inside Amy Schumer team.  Inside Amy Schumer is created and produced by Amy Schumer and Daniel Powell and Executive Produced by Jessi Klein, Tony Hernandez and Steve Ast, Jessi Klein Also Serves as Head Writer
