Nerdist, @midnight host and comedy writer producer podcaster and actor Chris Hardwick got engaged the night of the creative Emmys. He’s been with his chick for about a year, and wanted legal documentary of their love, so he proposed.
He had tried to coordinate a whole big cross country surprise at Disneyland, but the stars just didn’t align, so instead he tried to find another way to surprise and/or trick her into being proposed to. The night of the creative arts Emmy award ceremony he lied about an afterparty and instead got a romantic room at the Hotel Marmont.
It was there that he gave her a candy ring when he proposed but not because he was cheap, the real ring just wasn’t ready and he didn’t want to wait. Fallon interrupted Hardwick’s story to let everyone know that he cried when he proposed to his wife. Hopefully they were candy tears.
