The High Plains Comedy Festival announced today its final wave of performers and released the full Festival schedule. The new announcement includes the addition of 40 Denver-based comedians a special appearance by Ron Funches, who will be in town at Comedy Works recording his next album plus LA comedians Josh Androsky and Justine Marino. Along with previously announced Denver sons The Grawlix, comedians Troy Walker, Kristin Rand, Chris Charpentier, Haley Driscoll and Jim Hickox will all be making the trip to perform to their “hometown” audiences.

Thursday you can catch Matt Braunger and Sean Patton.  Friday is a packed schedule with 7 Minutes in Purgatory, Dan St. Germain, Karen Kilgariff & Drennon Davis, Andres Du Bouchet & Friends, Lucas Bros with Jay Larson and friends, Sexpot Comedy with Beth Stelling and Matt Braunger with friends, Jonah Ray with Ben Kronberg and friends, Sean and Sean, and The Fine Gentlemans Club with Nikki Glaser plus an Open Mic.  And don’t overlook the “and friends” parts of these shows, there is giant list of talent and you can read more here to read the list of great names.

Saturday kicks off with Mara Wiles & The Funky Brunch—a showcase-meets-improv show with a throwback vibe plus Cartoons & Comedy which features comedians riffing on favorite ‘80s & ‘90s cartoons and commercials. Both shows take place at Mutiny Information Café, and both have free admission. The day also includes a live version of the über-popular These Things Matter podcast at Hi-Dive (with guests Funches, Jay Larson, Jonah Ray, and Karen Kilgariff) and a jumbo-sized Uncalled Four which will host five comedians doing short sets, then competing in a one-of-a-kind (and often offensive) game show that takes board games like Apples to Apples or Cards Against Humanity into a new realm.

Saturday night continues with the headlining show at Paramount Theatre with Anthony Jeselnik, and a stacked backing lineup, and concludes with the High Plains Super Finale Party where The Grawlix will welcome a highlight reel of High Plains performers and special guests for the final Festival blow-out.

“Our schedule this year is insane—there’s no other way to put it,” says Festival co-founder Andy Juett. “We’ve been incredibly lucky to get so many national and local superstars who want to be a part of this thing. Fitting them all in has been a challenge, but it translates to the best deal ever for Denver comedy fans who get to see more than 70 crushers take to the stage.”

The 3rd Annual High Plains Comedy Festival will take place August 20th through 22nd, at venues on South Broadway and Paramount Theatre in Denver. VIP Festival Passes and tickets to all shows are now on sale at highplainscomedyfestival.com. Some shows are expected to sell out quickly, so Festival-goers are encouraged to buy tickets early.
