The part of the “sarcastic handyman” has been cast in the new comedy “Daddy’s Home” starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. Hannibal Buress will be playing the part in the film that went into production last month.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the new film directed by Sean Anders and John Morris, is about a new step dad played by Ferrell who is trying to become a hit with his new step kids, only to have their biological father played by Wahlberg show back up on the scene.

Hannibal Buress’ character is someone who becomes convinced the step dad is a raging racist due to the manipulations of Wahlberg’s character. The former “30 Rock” and “SNL” writer, Buress, stole the scene in this past Summer’s “Neighbors” as the police officer who keeps answering the neighborhood’s complaints. He also had a big 2014 as the comedian who started the backlash against Bill Cosby by calling him a “rapist” on stage during his stand up act.

“Daddy’s Home” is due out in 2015 from Paramount – Red Granite.
