Chelsea Handler Takes Another Shot at Joan Rivers; Handler Rivers Feud Continues

The Guardian talked to Chelsea Handler about her new gig with Netfix. During the interview, Chelsea was asked about the lack of women hosting late night talk shows, and it looks like the Handler Rivers feud lives on.
Chelsea replied by saying that those shows were built for men. She also took the opportunity to keep the bad feelings between her and Joan Rivers going. She said – “Comedy is more of a sport for men. There are definite gains and momentum for women, but it took a lot of time. It’s like women being in the army. It’s combat. You stay in awful hotels, you are not making any money. Joan Rivers is not a role model. Just because she is a comedian and a woman doesn’t mean she is a role model. Jane Fonda is a role model. I’m sure she could have had a talk show if she’d wanted one.”
Yeah, but how funny would Jane Fonda’s monologue be!?
The feud between Handler and Rivers dates back to an E! network event in 2012. Both women have shows on the entertainment network and Joan claims she was snubbed by Chelsea at the event. Chelsea later explained on the Howard Stern Show that it was Joan that started the problems with her remarks that night. According to her – “Joan Rivers gets up and she’s like, I’d like to thank Chelsea Handler for giving me a career in comedy (mock laughing), and congratulations on your stage Chelsea because I don’t even have a dressing room. And I’m like, fuck off!”
The very next day, Joan Rivers appeared on Stern and answered back by saying – “Number one, the girl made it on her back fucking the president, we all know that, of the network. Number two, she’s fine, she’s ordinary. She’s not a genius.”
Chances are pretty good that Joan won’t be appearing on Chelsea’s new Netflix show.
