“The Goldbergs” Book Special Guest Stars For Season 2

ABC’s Wednesday night sitcom “The Goldbergs” starring Jeff Garlin is loading up on guest stars for its second season. Paul Sorvino, Rob Huebel and Dan Bakkedahl have all been booked for Season 2 appearances.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Paul Sorvino will appear as Jeff Garlin’s character’s father, Pop Pop. He won’t be the easiest person to get along with now and never was. He has a life filled with disappointments including passing up an opportunity to invest in 7-Up which he still regrets. Rob Huebel from “Children’s Hospital” will play a talent scout who talks aspiring models out of their cash for cheap head shots and runway lessons. Dan Bakkedahl (Legit, Veep) will appear as a middle school science teacher who’s a little too excitable.
Sorvino, Huebel and Bakkedahl join other previously announced Goldberg guest stars for the upcoming season. Ana Gasteyer appears as a drama teacher and David Spade will play a creep who makes fake IDs for high school students.
The series is loosely based on showrunner Adam F. Goldberg’s life. It takes place in the late 80s and Goldberg also promises this year will have a salute to director John Hughes who wrote and/or directed classic 1980s coming of age films like “The Breakfast Club”, “Pretty in Pink” and “Sixteen Candles”.
“The Goldbergs” returns for Season 2 on Wednesday, September 24th on ABC.
