Get Trapped in South Park!!! Comedy Central Bringing Immersive Experience Nationwide
Comedy Central announced today that they partnered with Escape The Room to bring a South Park branded immersive experience to locations all over the country. The first of a series opens in Oakbrook, Illinois, this week.
Trapped! Caught in another one of Cartman’s schemes, fans of South Park will enter and try to escape what Comedy Central is calling the “most diabolical and evil place ever invented: SKOOOOL!”
South Park: Cartman’s Escape Room will make its debut in Chicago on Wednesday, May 15 followed by additional openings in New York, Denver and Los Angeles, with more locations to be announced this summer. Escape the Room Chicago is located at 60 Oakbrook Center, in Oakbrook, IL – 30 minutes from Downtown.
The nationwide launch of South Park: Cartman’s Escape Room will offer fans of the iconic series a truly immersive and instagramable experience. Original dialogue and animation will help visitors feel like they’re a part of their favorite show. A pop-up prototype of the escape room was staged at Comic-Cons in San Diego and New York and reportedly was a big hit.
Escape rooms are a form of immersive reality entertainment where players have to complete missions, like escaping the room. They’re given clues to figure out how to solve the problem. It fits perfectly into Comedy Central’s growing focus on allowing fans of shows to immerse themselves into a series-based experience. Comedy Central’s Clusterfest makes extensive use of experiences and photo opportunities with replicas of sets and comedy show restaurants bars where you can actually eat and drink.
