Gad Elmaleh came to America to pursue the American dream, like countless generations of immigrants before him. Of course, he was already rich and famous when he got here. In the trailer for his first ever English-language stand up special, Gad Elmaleh talks about the American Dream, the stress of learning English and going through customs.
Elmaleh is a comedy sensation in Europe and has been for a long time. Once he moved to the states, it didn’t take him long at all to become a comedy superstar here as well. He developed the name the French Jerry Seinfeld, not only because he’s a sensation in his home country, but also because he provided the voice over for the role Seinfeld voiced in the French version of Bee Movie.
In 2017 Gad released his first Netflix special- Gad Gone Wild. Now he is back on Netflix with his second original stand-up comedy special, “Gad Elmaleh: American Dream.” Filmed at The Town Hall in New York City, Gad recalls his experiences moving from Paris to New York, struggling to flirt with women in New York clubs, and how he wants to visit the Paris that Americans always talk about, but doesn’t really exist. “Gad Elmaleh: American Dream” premieres Tuesday, March 6, 2018.
