Fran Lebowitz Addresses Giuliani’s Comments And Racism On Real Time

Fran Lebowitz was a guest on Real Time with Bill Maher on Friday night. The writer and contributing editor to Vanity Fair magazine talked to Maher about former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s recent comments that President Obama “doesn’t love America”.
She claims that Giuliani is so trapped in nostalgia for the America of the 1950s that Obama can’t possibly love the country as much as he does, or at least the country that Giuliani would like to see return. Fran also talked about racism under Mayor Giuliani and gave an interesting fact about the NYPD, not just under Giuliani, but during her entire time living in New York.
And in a moment that should frighten every New Yorker, Fran Lebowitz talked about not hating L.A. as much as she used to. That’s only because she feels New York City has gotten so much worse under the administrations of Giuliani and Michael Bloomberg. She calls a Bloomberg’s term “12 year reign”.
Fran Lebowitz is in Los Angeles for the legendary Vanity Fair Oscar Party which Maher said is not a party without Fran.
