FOX Passes On Tina Fey Sitcom

fox passes on tina fey sitcom

The pilot TV series “Cabot College” from executive producer Tina Fey, will not be premiering on FOX. The network had placed a six episode order for the series, but now that the network is under new management, the order has been cancelled.

“Cabot College” is about the first male class admitted to a university that has been traditionally all women. The series had a hysterical cast lined up starring Margaret Cho, Bonnie Dennison and Fortune Feimster. The show was written by Matt Hubbard and co-produced by Hubbard, Robert Carlock and David Miner, all from “30 Rock”.

The Hollywood Reporter stated that Fox has declined to pick up the options on the cast and the project is now dead. It was former FOX chairman Kevin Reilly who ordered the series pick up, but that was dropped after he left the network in May.

Tina Fey isn’t completely out of the television business this coming year. Her other series where she’s executive producer, “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” starring Ellie Kemper from “The Office” is expected to debut mid-season on NBC.
