Do you love comedy and music? Do you live or plan on being in southern California the weekend of September 15th? If so, you need to consider diverting some of that rainy day fund toward getting some tickets to the KAABOO Del Mar music and comedy festival. Now in its third year, the festival boasts one of the best music lineups you’ll ever see at a fest, and now The IBang has an exclusive first look at the comics that will be gracing the stage of the event’s HUMOR ME comedy club.
With KAABOO’s comedy lineup, there’s a little something for everyone. The comics in attendance for the 3-day festival this year are Patton Oswalt, Maria Bamford, Sebastian Maniscalco, David Spade, Norm Macdonald, Bridget Everett, Al Madrigal, Demetri Martin, Nick Swardson, Arsenio Hall, Bryan Callen and Taylor Williamson. In addition to those acts, one lucky SoCal comic who participates in the KAABOO Discovery Tour will win a chance to take the stage at HUMOR ME and perform amongst the likes of Oswalt and Spade. Interested parties can click here to sign up to appear at one of the Discovery Tour stops, the first of which takes place July 19th at The Casbah in San Diego.
As if the comedy lineup wasn’t enough of a reason to go, KAABOO has one of the most varied musical offerings of any festival you’ll find. Performers in attendance include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, P!nk, David Guetta, Muse, Alanis Morissette, Logic, Jason Derulo, Kesha, Jackson Browne, T-Pain, Machine Gun Kelly, Michael McDonald, Toad the Wet Sprocket, The Avett Brothers and many more, totaling over 100 performers.
In addition to assembling world-famous comics, KAABOO Del Mar intends to help to bring new talent to the stage through its “KAABOO Discovery Tour.” The Discovery Tour is a program designed to recognize the wealth of amazing local artists in SoCal. Local comics will have a chance to expose their comedy chops to new audiences and compete for a chance to perform on the HUMOR ME stage. One comedian, plus 3 local bands, will be selected as winner of the Discovery Tour, earning them the coveted opportunity to perform at KAABOO. The tour will stop at the American Comedy Co on Aug. 17th, and comedians are encouraged to apply here for the opportunity to perform at the venue. Comedian submissions will be open through Saturday, July 1.
All performances will take place at the Del Mar Racetrack and Fairgrounds from Friday, September 15th through Sunday, September 17th. In addition to the musical and comedy offerings, attendees will experience a curated art and food experience that celebrates local offerings and promotes a cool, comfortable festival experience.
3-day “Hang Loose” passes are $259, while the “Hang Five VIP” and “Hang Ten VIP” packages are going for $839 and $2,999, respectively.
